Week 3 Per Aspera ad Astra

Hello all,

I am posting this message by email again; still don't have access to my and your blogs :((

This week was quite challenging and tough for me.
At the beginning of this week I created my delicious page, which was great; I liked the idea of storing necessary resources at one place, and have access to them from different computers. But, after I signed out the very first day I created it, I couldn't sign in again. So, to have a real access to my page I had to join delicious.com three times; the URL of my page you have is the result of my third attempt.
It is the first week of the spring term at my university, which means that all my students are back from their winter vacation. The first term week is always crazy, many things to be arranged, many instructions to be delivered etc. I've understood it is difficult to teach students and to be a student at the same time.
Another thing is that I had only 4 days to cope with all the tasks given for this week assignment because my birthday is on Saturday and I had and still have many things to be prepared for it.
I am not satisfied with some of my postings on Nicenet+Hope next week I'll work better.
But in spite of al the obstacles I learnt a lot from this week discussions and ideas shared by all participants. The articles, offered for this week readings were helpful, I got some information about the ways of technology application in teaching practice. I appreciate Sueanne Parker's comments and questions, which made me think a lot. She is a real professional as well as all our instructors. Unfortunately I didn't have time to respond all the questions offered for further discussion at Nicenet, hope I ll work harder and more productive next week

Thank you all
Yours,
Luba

Week 2 Weekly Reflection

Hello all+

I am writing to my blog for the third time after I created it about 2 weeks ago. I will have to post my messages by email. Unfortunately I don't have a chance to use my blog as other participants do, because of some problems with the local Internet service provider. I can't see other people's posts, but can read the comments through my email, which I appreciate a lot!!!!!!!

The offered topic for this week discussion was great. What I liked about it most of all was that I learnt some valuable information about the ways and sources of web searching I can use in my teaching practice as well as my personal academic research. Another idea I liked a lot, presented by our instructors, was writing objective experience. As far as I am concerned, practice always leads to better understanding.

I started one of my Nicenet postings this week with the saying "The more I learn, the more I understand I know nothing". The 2nd week has already passed and I 100% support this statement.

I am lucky to be a part of our team because the participants, by sharing their ideas and thoughts which are very creative, experienced and active, inspire me for better learning and participating+

Thank you all,
Yours,
Luba

Week1 Blog Experience Day2

Hello, dear colleges!!!

This is my second day at www.blogger.com. Today I tried to visit other participants blogs, leave some comments there and I  managed to do it!!! I found your blogs  GREAT!!!   Amjad seems to be very experienced in blogging, special thanks to him for his help and support!!!! As for me, still have many things to learn about blogging as the process of associating with others, attaching files, putting the links etc.

I think, using blogs  is great and helpful teaching aid. Though I 'm not at all experienced in it, I can see what  benefits  it gives to learners, whoever they are and whatever their age is.  It's one of the great innovative teaching technique, which would definitely motivate the students to participation, even those who are kind of passive at classes. It's much easier to build a team and help students feel they are the parts of it,  still leaving the personal space to everyone. It gives opportunities for creative out-of-class activities.

So, as soon as I know more about how to use blog more effectively, I'll definitely use it in my teaching practice, I'm sure it will encourage my students for better learning.

I'll share my ideas and comments about Blogging for ELT on Nicenet later this week, hope to read your ideas and get your references as well.

Thank you,

Luba

Week1 My first Blog experience

I can't believe I did it!!!!  My first Blog experience... Still confused about many things.

I want to thank Sandra and Deborah for giving us clear step-by-step instructions, it was not as difficult as I thought it would be after all.

Hope to work effectively, using blog, share the ideas and learn much from the instructors as well as other participants later on ... To find people who have the same interests, who think the same or different way about the issues which you are anxious about, to learn something new from them,  means to have a chance to become wiser to me.

I'll post my reflection on using a blog for class later

Thank you, Luba
